Economic Impact of Moderate-Vigorous Physical Activity Among Those With and Without Established Cardiovascular Disease: 2012 Medical Expenditure Panel Survey.

Moderate to vigorous physical activity for at least 30 minutes a day 5 days a week was found to be associated with significantly reduced health care spending. J Am Heart Assoc. 2016 Sep 7;5(9).

Comment: The key here seems to be that the exercise intensity was moderate to vigorous. Any activity is good, however, short bursts of intensity appear to be particularly beneficial.
